Seller FAQs
Q. How do your auctions work?
A. A traditional auction
reaches your neighbors and maybe a nearby community.
Our auctions reach out to the American Agricultural Community.
In essence, the entire nation.
Q. What kind of auction formats do you offer?
A. Heartland Iron offers
Feature Auctions which are held
every two weeks. Heartland Iron also offers Direct
Auctions which allow the consignor to submit all of
the information about his/her equipment. Direct
Auctions run daily.
Q. How do I prepare my equipment for auction?
A. Naturally you want your equipment to look its best,
so a good cleaning is recommended. That's all. That's
the best part. You don't have to haul it to another
town or auction site. We do the marketing for you!
Q. Can I use my equipment once it is consigned?
A. No.
Q. Can I sell my equipment once it is consigned with you?
A. No.
Q. How do I receive payment from a sold piece of equipment?
A. After the close
of the auction, the buyer has three (3) business days
to post the auction closing price and any applicable tax
to secure a payment account designated by Heartland Iron.
After posting, the Buyer and Seller will both be notified
that the payment is secure. Both Buyer and Seller will
then agree to a pick up date and place. After the
equipment has been picked up, payment will be made to
the Seller's designated account less any applicable fees.
Q. What do I have to pay for your services?
A. Our fees are more reasonable
than a traditional auction. By utilizing the internet,
we are able to market to many more people and pass that
savings on to our Sellers. For a detailed list of
fees, go to our Heartland Iron Schedule
of Fees. (www.heartlandiron.com/sellfees.shtml)
Q. Can I set a reserve on my equipment?
A. Equipment sold
in a Feature Auction may not
have a reserve. The equipment in a Feature Auction
is priced so that the opening bid is a price that is desirable
to the Seller.
A reserve may be placed on a Direct
Auction item.
